Board Governance: We believe that a disciplined, functional and effective board is the backbone of a strong and successful organization.

We educate board members in their roles and responsibilities; we teach them how to think, communicate and process decisions; and we coach them to be impactful leaders. We improve board governance by:  evaluating the board’s current issues and needs; assessing its functionality; developing customized governance training and education programs (from workshops to retreats to on-going board meeting coaching); reviewing all governance documents and revising them or creating new ones; designing board recruitment profiles and facilitating strategic board development; assisting the board’s assessment of its work by individual members and by the board as a whole. 

Organizational Development and Executive Search: We believe that professionalization elevates the impact and fine reputation of the organization.

We bring rigor and discipline to organizations by: assessing internal capacity and needs; strengthening administrative and programmatic functioning; introducing best practices across the organization; aligning programs with mission; guiding strategic and long-term planning; defining revenue streams and strategizing resource development. We work closely with boards and search committees to identify exactly the right leader for their organization's current needs and future aspirations.

Grantmaking: We believe that the grantmaking relationship should be a creative collaboration that advances the missions of both partners.

We construct meaningful and effective philanthropic grantmaking programs by: helping donors articulate intent, vision and mission; introducing grantmaking strategies and designing programs that make a difference; researching, vetting and communicating with grantees;  making site visits; identifying strategic alliances with other funders; evaluating grant and program effectiveness.

Facilitation and Mediation: We believe that constructive interpersonal communication contributes to the strength and effectiveness of the organization. 

We enhance the productivity, decision-making capabilities, internal and external communication of leadership groups and staff by: actively facilitating meetings, workshops and retreats; and by mediating board/family/staff dynamics.

Coaching and Mentoring: We believe that all organizations should aspire to excellence and seek support toward that goal.

We educate board members and staff in their roles and responsibilities, and develop their organizational leadership and impact by: coaching executive directors and board chairs; and mentoring board, staff and family members.

Special Projects: We believe in creativity, flexibility and being open to new challenges.

We are available to fulfill special project requests and take on interim leadership positions.

Sharing Knowledge and Expertise: We believe in strengthening the sector through continuous learning and the contribution of new ideas and relevant experience.
